INDOT to switch traffic into crossover pattern on I-74 in Shelby County

The Indiana Department of Transportation is switching the traffic pattern on I-74 for a construction project in Shelby County.

Right now, crews are replacing concrete patches with asphalt on I-74 EB and WB from the 104 mile marker to the 120 mile marker.

Traffic will be switched into a crossover pattern in three separate spots in the construction zone.

The crossovers will take place at State Road 244, Michigan Road, and just east of County Road 450 N.

On or after July 16, traffic will be switched into a crossover pattern near Michigan Road on I-74 EB. Traffic will be shifted onto EB lanes, with one lane in each direction. All lanes of I-74 WB will be closed.

The crossover near SR 244 will begin next week. The final crossover will start in the beginning of August.

Traffic is scheduled to switch to the WB lanes near the beginning of September.
