Diana Kay Tanner, 68, Shelbyville

Diana Kay Tanner, 68, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her home.

 

She was born August 22, 1951, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Marion F. “Smiley” Rutherford and Molene (Turner) Roszell.

 

On November 6, 1993, she married Martin Carrol Tanner, and he survives.

 

In addition to Martin, Diana is survived by her daughters, Dawn Marie Elrod, and Wendi Michele Ogden and husband, Andrew, all of Shelbyville; son, Joshua Shane Tanner and wife, Mary, of Kyle, Texas; sister, Carolyn Talbert and husband, Mike, of Wetumpka, Alabama; brothers, Ray Rutherford and wife, Bonnie, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Marion Rutherford and wife, Joyce, of Somerset, Kentucky; grandchildren, Lindsay Lucas and husband, Bradley, Ashli Elrod, Kayla Maynard, Tanner Elrod, Zyon Maynard, Peter Tanner, Milana Tanner, Madison Ogden and William Ogden; and great-grandchildren, Ashe Lucas, Aurora Lucas and Alexander Lucas.

 

Diana was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Kathy Aldridge.

 

She was a 1969 graduate of Shelbyville High School.

 

Diana was a member of the West Street United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

 

She retired from Freudenberg NOK in 2016, with 32 years of service.

 

Diana loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Keck officiating.

 

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Street United Methodist Church Choir, 629 South West Street, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
