Donald L. "Don" Waggoner, 72, Gwynneville

Donald L. “Don” Waggoner, 72, of Gwynneville passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Next to Home in Greenfield.

 

He was born April 11, 1947, in Gwynneville, the son of Thomas M. and Mary Nettie (Six) Waggoner.

 

On July 16, 1967, he married the love of his life, Pauline Matney, and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2009.

 

Don is survived by his daughter, Charity Bright and husband, Barry, of Greenfield; son, Thomas Waggoner and wife, Dana, of Gwynneville; grandchildren, Ben Bright and companion, Emily, Ashely Bright, Cody Waggoner, Daniel Bright, Adam Bright, Noah Waggoner and Emma Waggoner; great-grandchildren, Nova Waggoner, Dante Bright, Colton Clark and Cashton Clark; brothers-in-law, James Matney and Jake Matney, both of Shelbyville, David Matney and wife, Kathy, of Arlington, and Virgil Matney and wife, Sherry, of Carthage; sister-in-law, Martha Clabough and husband, Steve, of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Pauline, Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David Waggoner and Dan Waggoner.

 

Don graduated in 1965 from Morristown High School, and from the Indiana Barber School in 1967.

He was a barber in Morristown, and later at 5 Points in Shelbyville.

 

Don served in the Army National Guard.

 

He was a member of the Indiana Standardbred Association.

 

Don loved horses and horse racing. He was a knife and coin collector.

 

Private family services will be observed.

 

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
