Clarence Eric Schonfeld, 66, of Waldron, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at IU Health University Hospital.

Born July 24, 1953 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Paul Edward Schonfeld and Betty (Lance) Schonfeld.  He married Patty (Higdon) Schonfeld on August 24, 1973 and she survives.

Other survivors include 3 children- Jeremy Schonfeld of Greensburg, Jennifer Benefiel (husband Troy) of Shelbyville, Erica Wood (husband Brian) of Waldron; 3 brothers- Mike Schonfeld (wife Carol) of Connersville, Gary Schonfeld (wife Susan) of Shelbyville, Roby Schonfeld of Geneva; 5 brothers-in-law Ron Higdon of Indianapolis, Phil Higdon  (wife Sandi) of Plainfield, Gene Higdon of Ninevah, Steve Higdon of Rushville, Doug Higdon of Shelbyville; 6 grandchildren- AJ Benefiel, Kayla Benefiel, Taylor Wood, Morgan Wood, Branson Schonfeld, Daisy Schonfeld; and a great

grandson that will be arriving soon.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Schonfeld was a lifelong resident of this area, and a 1972 graduated of Waldron High School.  He was a member of Waldron Volunteer Fire Department, and had been a factory worker at GE/Wellman's and Ryobi Die Casting for many years, retiring from Ryobi in 2019 after 28 years of service.

Eric was an avid Miami Dolphin's Football fan.  He enjoyed golfing, hiking, camping, attending Waldron High School sporting events, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Thursday, July16, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.  Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. 

Friends may call on Wednesday evening, July 15, 2020 from 4:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Waldron Community Volunteer Fire Department or Waldron Jr./Sr. High School Athletic Department, in care of the funeral home.
