James Douglas Padrick, 95, of Moral Township

James Douglas Padrick, 95, of Moral Township, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was born March 7, 1927, in Acton, the son of James Douglas Padrick and Elsie G. (Woods) Padrick-Winton.

James is survived by his brother, Charles Daniel Padrick of Peru; sister, Janice Annette Wildman of Indianapolis; son, Timothy Lee Padrick of Indianapolis; daughter, Lea Ann Padrick and her partner, Andrew Roche, of Greenwood; step-children, Brian Keith Barrett of New Palestine and Pamela Webb and husband, Ralph, of Lawrence; sister-in-law, Carol Weaver and husband, David, of Carmel; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Josephine (Bush) Padrick; and wives, Jean (Maze) Padrick and Wilma (McCalip) Barrett Padrick.

James graduated from Arsenal Tech High School.

He retired in 1988, from Eli Lilly, where he worked in the printing department for 42 years.  While working at Eli Lilly, he participated in Junior Achievement at the Indiana School for the deaf.

James learned carpentry from his father.  He was a very skilled woodworker, and he also created beautiful stain glass pieces.

Visitation will be from 10 to Noon, Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at Noon on Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.

Interment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
