Roby E. "Mike" Washburn, Jr, 83, of Washington, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Daviess Community Hospital.

Born on July 9, 1940 in St. Paul, Indiana, he was the son of Roby E. Washburn and Ruth (Bettner) Washburn.

He married Susan I. (Wilson) Washburn on May 12, 1962 and she survives.

Other survivors include 2 brothers- Robert Washburn (Imelda) of Greensburg, Wayne Washburn of Greensburg; and sister Donna Joliff of Waldron. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Julia Spears.

Mr. Washburn had lived in Washington, Indiana for 15 years after previously moving from Greensburg. He was a member of The Church on the Way in Washington and attended Greensburg High School.

Roby was a factory worker for Delta Faucet for 39 years, retiring in January 2007. Mike enjoyed traveling, fishing and making his own fishing flies. At one point he was a black belt in karate. He loved God, his faith, and his country.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd.

Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
