Shelbyville softball suffered its fourth loss of the season Tuesday to Southport, 3-2.
Kylie Sloan scattered seven hits and limited the Golden Bears' high-powered offense to just two runs.
Brooke Lipperd took the loss for Class 4A, No. 6 Shelbyville (22-4). She pitched three innings, allowed five hits and three runs (only one was earned). Cheyenne Eads pitched the final three innings and had seven strikeouts.
Maddie Campton had a solo home run for Shelbyville.
Kylee Edwards produced three of the Golden Bears' seven hits.
Shelbyville closes out the regular season Thursday at 4A No. 9 Center Grove then hosts 4A No. 3 Mooresville Friday.
