Engineering firm DLZ provided Shelby County Commissioners with a look at what a new county highway garage and recycling site could look like.

County commissioner Kevin Nigh says the site improvements include a fueling station, storage for equipment, a new recycling building, new transfer station and more.

One of the challenges to the project is rebuilding and revamping important areas on the existing site.  It’s not like building on an completely new on a different piece of land.

The proposed campus would have a total of 8 buildings within the site.
