Joyce Ann Hamley, 80, Shelbyville

Joyce Ann Hamley, 80, of Shelbyville, Indiana, resided most of her life in Cleveland, Ohio passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

 

She was born July 30, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Henry Fahs and Ruth (Barger) Buda.

 

Joyce is survived by her children, Michael Hamley and wife, Allison, of Cleveland, Ohio, June Nowacki and husband, Scott, of Mars, Pennsylvania, Tim Hamley and wife, Stacey, of Cleveland, Ohio and Sandi Landwerlen and husband, Bob, of Flat Rock, Indiana; brother, Butch Fahs; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bill Fahs.

 

Joyce graduated in 1956 from West High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

She formerly worked at Pat Catan’s in custom picture framing, until retiring in 2006.

 

Joyce enjoyed crafting, sewing, beading, candle making and gardening, especially to attract her beloved hummingbirds. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She loved watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball and spending time with her family.

 

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at the American Legion 1125 Miller Ave Shelbyville, IN on March 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Indians Charities, 2401 Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44115 or the Salvation Army, 136 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
