Ronald J. “Ron” Meltzer, 63, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home.

He was born June 2, 1955, in Shelbyville, the son of Thomas Riley and Patricia “Joan” (Spurlin) Meltzer.

Ron is survived by his brothers, Gary Meltzer and wife, Susan, of Avon, and James Meltzer and wife, Janey, of Falmouth; sister, Sharon Rounds and husband, Howard “Joe”, of Lafayette; and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron was a 1973 graduate of Shelbyville High School.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Ron retired as a merchandiser for Pepsico, with 27 years of service.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Father Paul Landwerlen officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.
