Juanita Delores Cassidy, 95, Indianapolis

Juanita Delores Cassidy, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.

 

She was born January 29, 1924, in Maple Grove, Wisconsin, the daughter of Otto and Edith (Dick) Anderson. On August 13, 1947, she married William Cassidy, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2006.

 

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Deborah Meadows and husband, Ron, of Birdseye, Linda Lewis and husband, Allen, of Fresno, California, and Sandra Cassidy of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to William, Juanita was preceded in death by her parents. She was from a large family and was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and two sisters.

 

Juanita was a member of the Villa Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

 

She attended school in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

 

Juanita retired from Herff Jones, with 25 years of service. She enjoyed her job as a machinist and never missed a single day of work.

 

She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, and was known as the “Puzzle Lady” at Heritage House.

 

Juanita made many friends at Heritage House and enjoyed their company.

 

Juanita also enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune”.

 

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
