He graduated from Shelbyville Senior High School in 1971 and married Barbara Kohrman in 1972. Barbara preceded him in death in 2015, after nearly 43 years of marriage.

Jerry studied electrical engineering at Ohio Institute of Technology, where he earned an Associate's degree. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, and best fur pals Scotty, Joy, Winston and Buddy.

Jerry fought a brave battle, was loved by many, and passed surrounded by family.

A Gathering of Friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
