Christopher M. “Chris” Muir, 55, of Morristown passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

He was born July 19, 1963, in Shelbyville, the son of William M. Muir and Sandra S. (Cory) York.

Chris is survived by his father, William M. Muir of Jasper; mother, Sandra S. York and husband, Eulis, of Morristown; son, Anthony Muir and wife, Brittany, of Flat Rock; daughter, Ashley Muir of Indianapolis; sister, Amy Wickizer and husband, Brad, of Davenport, Iowa; step-brothers, Eulis Ray York and wife, Jade, and Jason Allen York and wife, Ginnie, all of Franklin; grandson, Easton Contreras; and several nieces and nephews.

He graduated in 1981 from Morristown High School.

Chris worked as a truck driver for B. E. Trucking in Morristown for five years.

He was formerly a member of the Morristown F&AM Lodge and the Morristown Volunteer Fire Department.

Chris was a quiet person and enjoyed outdoor activities. His hobbies included fishing, deer hunting and riding his RZR.

He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them, especially his grandson. Chris also leaves behind his dog, Jaejae.

A Gathering of Friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington St. in Morristown.

A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
