Monna Sue Markley, 81, of Shelbyville

Monna Sue Markley, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away, Saturday, December 21, 2019, at her residence with family at her side.

 

She was born May 20, 1938 in Rush County, to Everett Christian and Myrtle (Coy) Christian.

 

She married Robert Allen Markley on March 3, 1956 and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2018.

 

Sue is survived by her sons, Mark (Margie) Markley of Shelbyville; David (Sue) Markley of Shelbyville; and Mike (Stacey) Markley of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Andrew, Courtney, Brandon, Desirae, Christopher, Joshua, Amanda, and Cindy; her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Madelyn, Silas, Rhett, Christian, Kaleb, Blaze, Addy, Phoenix, A.J., Zula, and Geo; her great-great-grandchildren, Logan, Zavier and Rowan; and her sister, Louise Greenlee of Columbus.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Larry Sawyer; her grandson, Kyle Markley, her brothers, Bob, Bud, and Si, and her sister, Flo.

  

She retired from the Shelbyville Central Schools after 28 years of service.

 

Sue was a member of the Little Blue River Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with Reverend Ken Morgan officiating.

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Markley family.
