Joan Marie Patrick, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday,

February 15, 2020 at Morristown Manor.

She was born in Shelbyville on January 29, 1944 to the late

John and Delorma (Dewester) Essex.

Joan was a 1962 graduated of Morristown High School.  She 

married Keith Patrick on August 29, 1970.  Joan had worked at General

Electric until the birth of her daughter, at which time she dedicated her

life to raising her family.  She was an avid gardener and loved to spend 

time outside tending to the yard and her many flower beds.  She also loved

spending time at the baseball diamond watching her grandsons play

baseball.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, D. Keith Patrick; daughter

Erin Yoder (husband Ed) of New Palestine; grandchildren Andrew

and Benjamin Yoder;  and brothers Jack Essex (wife Diane) and Jim

Essex (wife Rita), both of Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at

Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David 

Humphrey officiating.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 am

until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be held at Bennett Cemetery.
