Miriam S. Knoebel of Shelbyville

Miriam S. Knoebel of Shelbyville is finally coming home after 11 years away where

she lived near her daughter Rose McGlinsky in Minnesota. She almost made it to her

102nd birthday before passing.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards and being with

friends. She was an avid baseball and football fan and spread her love evenly

between Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota teams.

The bridge master at her Minnesota

community soon learned that Miriam was the true master of cards due to her many

years of experience with and against her talented friends in Shelbyville.

Although

she lived within Presbyterian Homes, she was part of a strong Catholic community

and practiced the faith every day. While in Shelbyville, she was a member of St.

Joseph Catholic Church, The Daughters of Isabella, and St. Anne's Altar Society.

Miriam was born in Batesville, Indiana to Irene and Louis Cook in 1918. After

the passing of both parents Miriam and her older brother James were adopted by

her mother's sister Mary (Weintraut) and her husband Edwin Soller of Shelbyville

when she was 8.

She had 2 children Stephan and Rose Ann with her husband

James Knoebel. Her son Steve passed when he was six years old.

She lived in

and loved Shelbyville till she was 91 years old and moved to be near family.

She is survived by her daughter Rose (Knoebel) McGlinsky, 7 grandchildren,

and 11 great grandchildren.

There will be a service at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd,

Shelbyville, on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mike Keucher

officiating.

She was born on March 26,1918. This would have been her 102nd

birthday.
