Donna Jean Carter, 75, Arlington

Donna Jean Carter, 75, of Arlington, Indiana walked into God’s arm Thursday, May 14,2020 at St Francis Hospital.  Born September 13, 1944 in Clinton County, Indiana.  She was the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Peggy)Cripe, they preceded her in death.

Donna married the love of her life, Roy James Carter on July 27, 1963.  This union was blessed with three loving children: sons, Brian James (Linda) Carter of Shelbyville, Indiana; Bradley Jene (Deborah) Carter of Greensburg, Indiana; daughter, Bridget Jo (Carter) Riddle of Arlington Indiana.  She was a loving, caring, and wonderful grandma to 14 grandchildren children, and 4 great grandsons.  She was one of six children.  Her siblings include: Ted (Sandy) Cripe of Hillisburg, Indiana; Earl Wayne (Donna Kay) Cripe of Kirklin, Indiana; Janet (Willie) Heidt of Kirklin, Indiana; Janice (Robert) Reed of Missouri; and Peggy Lou Bitner of Kirklin, Indiana.

Donna lived much of her life in this area, 17 years in Shelby County and the last 32 years on a farm in Rush County, that she loved.  She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.  In her younger years, Donna enjoy painting, making clay sculptures and making snow sculptures with her children.

Later in life she and Roy were loving foster parents to many, many at risk children.  She had a heart of compassion as big as the world.  It did not matter who you were, she was going to feed you, talk to you and wrap you in a hug that made all your worries melt away.  Her smile and laughter were contagious, and she loved her family fiercely.  It didn’t matter who you were, you never left her presence without a heartwarming hug and a kiss on the cheek. Most people had no idea as they pulled out of the driveway, she would be at the door watching them, and praying that God would guide and protect them always.  She was such a loving, caring, joyful person and the void that is left from her passing is enormous.

Services will be at 1pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 7414 E Michigan Rd, Waldron, Indiana, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 11am until the time of the service.  Burial will be at Manilla Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
