Ronald Edward "Ron" Meeks, Jr., 52, Shelbyville

Ronald Edward “Ron” Meeks, Jr., 52, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

 

He was born September 22, 1967, in Marietta, Ohio, the son of Ronald Meeks Sr. and Zana (Bunner) Meeks DeLong. On March 22, 2003, he married Diana Hill, and she survives.

 

In addition to Diana, Ron is survived by his mother, Zana DeLong and husband, Earl, of Waiteville, West Virginia; daughters, Kylee R. Meeks and significant other, Chad Jenkins, of Pennsboro, West Virginia, and Mercadise B. Meeks of Shelbyville; son, Craig Enos and wife, Megan, of Clarksburg, West Virginia; stepdaughters, Ashlei Hill Ford and husband, Cody, of Shelbyville, and April Dawn Smothers of Evansville; brother, Nick Meeks and wife, Kayleen, of Texas; sister, Tina Steele of West Virginia; grandchildren, Jacoby, Steven, Khloe, Shiloh, Klaire and Emily; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his father.

 

Ron graduated in 1985 from St. Marys High School in St. Marys, West Virginia.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as EOD officer during Desert Storm.

 

Ron delivered Coca Cola, and owned Willie Farkles and E-Z Indy Solutions.

 

He was a member of Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 28 F&AM, York Rite, Shrine and 32nd degree Mason.

 

He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in West Virginia, past commander of the Shelbyville American Legion Post No. 70, and had served as chef de gare of the Forty and Eight Club.

 

Ron also leaves behind his dogs, Nikki and Lucy.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Ingram Funeral Home, 512 Second St. in St. Marys, West Virginia.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be at Pleasants Memorial Estates in St. Marys.

 

Local services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville American Legion Military Committee or The Path Home, 1125 S. Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
