Leonard L. Haines, 73, of Greenfield

Leonard L. Haines, age 73 of Greenfield passed away Tuesday June 16, 2020 at Hancock Health-Suburban Hospice.

 

He was born July 29, 1946 in Rochester, Indiana to the late Herman and Grace (Floor) Haines. He was a 1964 graduate of Noblesville High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1968.


Leonard married Betsy (Miller) on January 28, 1968. Together they raised their family in Greenfield. Leonard worked for Stokley-Van Camp from 1969-1979. Most will remember him as the co-owner of Miller’s Jewelry until the time of his death.

 

Leonard was a humble and generous man who gave freely to his community. A member of the Rotary Club of Greenfield since 1996, Leonard was an avid supporter of the Gift of Life program since its inception for over twenty years.

 

Leonard was a part time farmer and enjoyed attending antique tractor shows. He enjoyed reading western novels and traveling with Betsy, especially to Tennessee. Most importantly he loved his family, friends and his faith. He attended Trinity Park UMC and Riley Friends Church.

 

He is survived by his wife Betsy of Greenfield; son, Greg (Shonda) Haines; daughter Sherry Haines; grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Haines, Kayla and Keith Miller; sister, Glenda (Charles) Ferguson; 2 nieces and several cousins.


Friends may call 2pm – 6pm Sunday June 21, 2020 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street Greenfield, Indiana 46140.

 

Funeral Service 10 am, Monday June 22, 2020 with pastors Markus Dennis and Mike Manning officiating.

 

Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
