Clay Sizemore, 83, of Fairland

Clay Sizemore, 83, of Fairland, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at his residence.


Born March 30, 1937 in Hyden, Kentucky, he was the son of Hamblin
Sizemore and Mae (Couch) Sizemore.  He married Violet Mae (Brewer)
Sizemore on November 29, 1957 and she survives.


Other survivors include 3 daughters- Monica Morgan (husband Terry) of Fairland,
Carmela Peterson (husband Rex) of Indianapolis, Tresa Eads (husband Kirk) of
Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Glen Sizemore of Shelbyville, Floyd Sizemore (wife Faye)
of Ozark, Alabama; 7 grandchildren- Terry Morgan Jr., Lisa Altringer (husband Jay),
Andrea Talbott (husband Justin), Lindsay Yarling, Aaron Eads, Alex Eads, Adam Eads;
3 great grandchildren- Quentin Talbott, Bailey Talbott, Grace Altringer.  He is also
survived by several cousins and his cat Buddy.  He was preceded in death by his
parents, a brother Edward Sizemore, and 2 sisters- Kathleen Shinnick, and infant
sister Alma Sizemore.


Mr. Sizemore had lived in this area over 50 years, after moving from Lawrenceburg.


He had been employed as a factory worker with Ford Motor Company for 37 years,
retiring in 2004.  He was a member of Vineyard Church in Greenwood, was a member
of Bluegrass Association for many years, and was a Distinguished Kentucky Colonel.
Clay loved playing Bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals.  He enjoyed
riding motorcycles and motorcross racing, fishing, flea markets, and traveling. 

 

Dad was the patriarch of our family and the love of our lives.  What a legacy he has left
for each and every one in his family.  We will always love you, husband, daddy, grandpa,
mentor, friend.


Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son 
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road. 

 

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. 

 

Friends may call on Thursday evening, July 2, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of
the funeral home.
