Alice Lou Pile, 89, of Edinburgh

Alice Lou Pile, 89, of Edinburgh passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her home.

 

She was born July 16, 1930, in Camargo, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Cecile (Smutts) Haines. On July 18, 1948, she married Charles Pile, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2010.

 

Alice is survived by her daughters, Tobi Fisher of Hebron, Terri Smith and husband, Allen, and TeAnn Kuntz and husband, Glen, both of Edinburgh, and Toni Relleke of Shelbyville; son, “Chuck” Pile and wife, Darlene, of Edinburgh; brother, David Haines of Columbus; grandchildren, Jessica Byers and husband, Brad, Cari Faulkner and husband, Shawn, Chris Pile and wife, Jessica, Tessa Palmer and husband, Josh, TyLynn Routier and husband, Brandon, Jed Relleke, Talice Relleke and Jenna Kuntz; ten great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lowell Daffron of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to Charles, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vesta Daffron; and two grandsons, A. J. Relleke and Josh Kuntz.

 

Alice graduated in 1948 from Mount Auburn High School.

 

She was a member of the Marietta Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was the church treasurer.

 

Alice served as the Jackson Township Trustee for over 30 years.

 

She was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
