Adrienne "Sue" Lynn, 81, of Dugger

Adrienne “Sue” Lynn, 81, of Dugger passed away July 5, 2020, at Breckenridge Health and Rehabilitation in Sullivan.

 

She was born April 11, 1939, in Linton, the daughter Paul Elkins and Thelma (Shonk) Tryon. On December 20, 1959, she married her husband of 60 years, Billy Joe Lynn, and he survives.

 

In addition to Bill, Sue is survived by her loving children, Lana Freeman and husband, Mike, of Morristown, Lori Hunt and husband, Matt, of Avon, Levi Lynn and wife, Tonya, of Dugger:

 

grandchildren, Brock Hunt, Brandon Hunt, Bryce Hunt and wife, Courtney, Alyssa Lynn, Alexis Lynn, Keagan Lynn, Deacon Lynn, Mason Lynn, Daymeon Alsman, Kate Alsman and Corbyn Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Addalyn Hunt and Jaxon Hunt; sister, Jean Burgess and husband, Terry, of Switz City, several nieces, nephews and cousins; and close family and friends, Suzanne and Andrew Hamilton, Cammy Misner and Gene Talpas, who helped them along the way, as well as, John Terhune, who introduced them.

 

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Ancil Tryon; and sister, Shirley Bryan. She graduated in 1957 from Linton-Stockton High School.

 

Sue was a member of the First Christian Church in Dugger.

 

She retired from the Northeast School Corporation, where she was the head cook at Dugger-Union Schools, with over 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked as a billing clerk for Dugger Utilities. She and Bill previously owned and operated Lynn’s Marathon Service Station. In the past, Sue enjoyed playing and coaching softball and being outdoors.

 

She was a wonderful devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sue cherished her grandchildren and loved spending her time caring for them. She was selfless, she always made certain everyone’s wants and needs were met first. Right down to always leaving the last piece of pie for Bill. Sue was a strong supporter of her family.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the First Christian Church, 8175 E. Main St. in Dugger.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Brother Jerry Carmichael officiating.

Interment will be in Dugger Cemetery in Dugger.

 

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
