Gordon R. Papke, age 93 of Greenfield passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Brandywine Golden Living Center.

Gordon was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Leon F. and Frances (Novak) Pepkowski. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1987 Gordon worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron, American Legion, New Horizon Band, Brandywine Wind Band, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Gordon is survived by his children, Barry (Patty) Papke, Christine (Richard) Carotta and Karen (Bill) Scott; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 51 years, Helen (Kuderer) Papke.

A Rosary Service will be held 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 with calling hours from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020 with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating at St. Michael Parrish Life Center, 519 No. Jefferson Street, Greenfield. Burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
