Cherilyne L. "Cher" Martin, 72, of New Palestine

Cherilyne L. “Cher” Martin, 72, of New Palestine passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

 

She was born March 21, 1948, in Connersville, the daughter of Howard Edward and Virginia Mae (Byroad) Stephen.

 

On August 15, 1965, she married her husband of 55 years, David Martin, and he survives.

 

In addition to David, Cherilyne is survived by her daughters, Tammy Osman of New Palestine, Ginny Burke and husband, Chad, of Midlothian, Texas, and Dawn Cooper and husband, Barry, of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Bill Stephen and wife, Patty, of Danville; sisters, Ada Morris and husband, Dick, of Morristown, Juanita Patterson of Chapin, South Carolina, Sandy Houston of Connersville, and Nancy Grimes and husband, Kenny, of Gwynneville; granddaughters, Ashley DeFrees, Taylor Osman and Rachael Forant; grandsons, Matthew Osman, Jacob Burke, Nicholas Burke, Devon Cooper and Colton Cooper; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward, Chuck, Jerry and Marion; and sisters, Shirley Ann and Kathy.

 

Cherilyne attended Morristown High School.

 

She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield, always willing to help behind the scenes.

 

Cherilyne was a member of the Brandywine Cruzers Car Club in Greenfield.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1610 S. State St. in Greenfield.

 

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, at the church, with Pastor Tommy Hensley officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

 

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
