Obituaries

Barbara Ann Kaster, age 79, of Greenfield passed away, Monday, September 14, 2020 surrounded by her family at Suburban Hospice. She was born November 26, 1940 in Beloit, Wisconsin to the late Francis G. and Evelyn (DeVoe) Dempsey.


Barbara received her nursing degree from the St. Francis School of Nursing in LaCrosse, WI., and continued her education receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. Barbara was a long-time R.N. for Hancock Memorial Hospital and retired in 2003 as a nurse consultant from Superior Consulting in Southfield, MI.


Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother, active in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a founding member of Greenfield Youth Baseball Association. She was an active volunteer for Hancock Regional Hospital, the State Health Insurance Program, and the National Nursing Staff Development Organization.


She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Karen) Kaster, Jenifer (Grant) Ford, Jay (Brandy) Kaster, JuLee (Justin) Jenkins, Joleen (Rich) Bottorff; grandchildren, Kyra Kaster, Andrew Kaster, Harrison (Abby) Bottorff, Hayden Bottorff, Alexandra (Mike) Mosenson, Abby Ortiz, Lillian Kaster and Logan Jenkins; great grandchildren, Jack and Michael Maye; and sister, Mary (Barbara Baxter) Dempsey. She is preceded in death by her parents listed above.


Friends may call 10:00 am until noon, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.

 

Funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Matt Wickham officiating.
