Donna Aileen Thoman, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 21, 2020, when she lost her 15-year battle with melanoma.
She was born December 2, 1944, in Arlington, Virginia, the daughter of Walter Benjamin Shaw and Norma Jean (Hoss) Shaw Davis. In October of 1994, she married her husband of 25 years, Loren Thoman, and he survives.
In addition to Loren, Donna is survived by her children, Tammy Becker of Greencastle, Thomas Dirickson and wife, Kelly, and Tanya Terry and husband, David, all of Reelsville, and Walter Shane Dirickson and wife, Rachel, of Mooresville; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Debbie Davis; and great-granddaughter, Delilah Dirickson.
She retired from the Allison Division of General Motors, with 33 years of service.
Donna loved her family and cherished spending time with them.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Zion Cemetery, 7025 East County Road 100 North, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176, friends may gather one-half hour prior.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
