Beverlee "Bev" Carlton, 84, of Morristown

Beverlee “Bev” Carlton, 84, of Morristown passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at her home.

 

She was born April 2, 1936, in Morristown, the daughter of John Robert Unger and Esther E. (Nigh) Unger Frazier. In Germany, on March 9, 1957, she married William Curtis “Bill” Carlton, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2015.

 

Bev is survived by three sons, Jeffery Allen Carlton and wife, Kim, Douglas Dean Carlton, and Bruce William Carlton and wife, Kelly, all of Morristown; grandchildren, Kreigh Carlton and wife, Katee, Lacy Carlton, Bryce Carlton, Jacob Carlton, Kaylin VanBenthuysen and husband, Matthew, Heath Carlton, Melia Rude and husband, Nathan, and Chelsy White and husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Trevon, Olivia, Nadia, Brynn, Braxton, Broden, Brycen, Brooklynn, Kannon, Kaiden, David and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to Bill, Bev was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, E. L. “Red” Frazier; sister, Barbara Whittington; and niece, Sherry (Whittington) Vernick.

 

Bev graduated in 1954 from Morristown High School.

 

She was a member of the Gwynneville United Methodist Church.

 

Bev was a farm wife. She and Bill owned and operated Frazier Funeral Home until retiring, they were a past member of the Morristown Chamber of Commerce.

 

She was a member of the Red Hats Society and enjoyed playing cards with her card club. Bev was an avid Morristown sports fan and also enjoyed Cincinnati Reds baseball.

 

Bev was active in the Northeastern Hometown Blue River Foundation.

 

Most importantly, Bev loved to spend time with her family.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Nick Keaton officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines requiring a mask and social distancing will be observed.
