James A. 'Jim' Elliott, 78, of Shelbyville

James A. ‘Jim’ Elliott, 78, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.

 

He was born October 22, 1942 in Laconia, NH to Arthur Conner Elliott and Gertrude (Kendall) Elliott.

 

Jim is survived by his son, Michael (wife, Angi) Elliott; his grandchildren, Hannah, Connor, and Brayden Elliott; his brothers, Donald (wife, Patricia) Elliott of Seminole, FL; and John Elliott, of DaNang, Vietnam; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Elliott of Orlando, FL. and also dearly loved by Seth, Jordan, and Lucas Bledsoe.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife, Mary Elliott.

 

He worked in accounting and was employed as a restaurant manager.

 

Jim attended Shelbyville Community Church.  He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer football fan, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

 

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

 

He really enjoyed watching all the Hallmark movies.  He loved to watch his grandsons play soccer and he was super proud of his granddaughter for her education and her accomplishments for taking steps for self healing

 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m, Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Farnsley and Craig Olson officiating.

 

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory with military rites conducted by local veteran’s organizations.

  

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Jim’s family.
