Corny P. Gossett, 86, of Shelbyville

Corny P. Gossett, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.

  

She was born in a log cabin in Fillmore, IN on July 6, 1934.  She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1952. She also earned a degree from Indiana Business College.

  

Corny worked in human resources at ATAPCO in Crawfordsville, IN where she retired in 1991. She loved singing, playing cards, and her keyboard.  Corny had a love for professional sports, especially football.

  

She also had a passion for pictures.  That could be seen by looking at the walls inside of her home.  She enjoyed making greeting cards for family and friends for birthdays, holidays and other special occasions.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and close friends.

 

Corny was the daughter of Stanley F. Sears and Dorothy L. (Smith) Sears.  She married Earl D. Gossett on September 5, 1954, and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1997.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Patti Cash (Steve) of Fillmore, and Teresa Robertson (Jim) of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Dan Cash, Lisa Robertson, Stacia Luh (Adrian), Katie Ricklefs (Brian), Rajean Bergman (Doug) and Jennifer Foxx (Brandon); and 11 great-grandchildren.

  

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Mary Susan McMains. 

  

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.  

 

A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

  

Burial will be at a later date at Brick Chapel Cemetery in Greencastle, IN.
