John W. Kappes, 70, of Waldron

John W. Kappes, 70, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at his residence.

 

Born January 5, 1950 in Batesville, he was the son of Bernard Kappes and Fern Ida (Snyder) Kappes.

 

He married Barbara Sue (Willis) Kappes on May 17, 1969 and she survives.

 

Other survivors include daughters- Matina Kappes Dellinger (husband Brian) of Shelbyville,

Rachelle E. Kappes Richards (husband Craig) of Wilsonville, OR; 5 nephews & 4 nieces;

 2 grandchildren- Cory Dellinger & Whitney S. Dellinger. He was preceded in death by his 

parents and sister Mary Lou Brown.

 

Mr. Kappes had lived in this area his entire lifetime and had graduated from Waldron

High School in 1968. He was employed with KCL Corp for many years and Triumph

for 5 years, retiring in 2016. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and a 

member of Central Indiana Bass Club. He was a US Army veteran. John enjoyed hunting and fishing, sports,  

was actively involved in his church, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Glenn E. George & Son

Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, with Rev. Mike Keucher officiating.

 Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday evening from

3:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home with the rosary recited at 2:45 pm. A graveside military service

will be conducted by a local veterans group.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent Catholic Church or Waldron Volunteer

Fire Dept. in care of the funeral home.
