Thomas Edward Shildmyer, age 86, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at home in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born November 18, 1934 in Marion, Indiana to Harry A. and Helen Shildmyer.
Thomas graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Marion, Indiana. He worked for Western Electric in Indianapolis for 19 years. He was then transferred to AT&T in Phoenix, where he worked until retirement. He was actively involved in the Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion, AmVets, and was former Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his sons, David M. (Anita) Shildmyer, Mark T. (Leticia) Shildmyer and Scott A. Shildmyer; daughter, Suann (Ken) Long; 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo-Ann; brother, James C. Shildmyer; and sister, Mary Patricia Herman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 am at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN. Interment at Park Cemetery, 621 S. State Street, Greenfield, IN.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be required, and staff will be limiting the number of people in the building to 25 at one time.
