Mary B. E. Myers, 95, of Shelbyville

Mary B. E. Myers, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 in Shelbyville Indiana, her hometown for over half a century. 

 

Born December 22, 1925 in Cook County(Chicago) Illinois, she was the daughter of Martin

Gilich and Antonia (Soukup) Gilich. 

 

She married Robert A. Myers on April 14, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church in Bangor, Michigan. They were married 67 years until he passed in July 2019.

 

Survivors include children Tony Myers (wife Sheila) of Shelbyville, Mary Ann Meyers (husband Phil) of Avon, Mike Myers (wife Sharon) of Shelbyville, Teresa Cepican  (husband Tom) of Westfield, Bobby Myers (wife Jean Ann) of Plainfield, Gloria Myers of Indianapolis; a sister Lillian Ryba of Michigan; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great  grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, and her Aunt and Uncle Rose and Mike Gusich.

 

Mrs. Myers was a resident of this area since 1952, after moving from Michigan.  She  graduated from Bangor High School in Michigan; she was also a graduate of the Medical Technology Registry

at Indiana University where she was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority. 

  

She was a Registered Medical Technician at Inlow Clinic for many  years; also at Dayton Veterans Hospital, Major Hospital and Corning Research and Pharmaceuticals. 

 

She was  a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church  and a lifetime member of the Antique Airplane Association.

 

Mrs. Myers loved her family and friends. She liked to garden, read, and cook - leaving her loved ones with many cherished memories and recipes in the process -   her children and grandchildren especially enjoyed  her beautiful wedding cakes and the rosettes she made every holiday season. 

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Rev. Mike Keucher officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph  Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday morning at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
