Harry Wilton Conrad, 95, of Shelbyville

Harry Wilton Conrad, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.

 

He was born January 3, 1926, in Shelbyville, the son of Ernest and Lillian (Cummings) Conrad. On February 14, 1964, he married Glenda V. (Smith) Conrad, and she survives.

 

In addition to Glenda, Harry is survived by his daughters, Vicki Lynn Martin of Brazil, and Kathy Hebert and husband, Kevin, of Bouronnais, Illinois; grandchildren, Pierce Martin and wife, Miranda, Gregg Martin and wife, Emma, Landon Hebert and Lawson Hebert: and great-grandchildren, Ozzie, Eleanor and Ava.

 

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ernest “Bud” Conrad Jr. and Bill Conrad.

 

He graduated in 1942 from Shelbyville High School, he continued his education in Louisville, Kentucky in television repair.

 

Harry was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during World War II.

 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville.

 

Harry retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route carrier, with 33 ½ years of service.

 

He was a member of the Eagles Aeries Lodge No. 766 and American Legion Post No. 70. Private family services will be conducted.

 

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, 2315 S. Riley Highway, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
