Rebecca D. "Becky" Jones, 65, of Bloomington, formerly of Shelbyville

Rebecca D. “Becky” Jones, 65, of Bloomington, formerly of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her home.


She was born February 11, 1956, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Richard W. “Dick” Jones Sr. and Joanne (Stites) Jones.


Becky is survived by her life partner, Joseph Kelley of Bloomington; brothers, Richard W. Jones Jr. of Greensburg, Robert W. Jones and wife, Monique, and Jeremy C. Jones and wife, Ashley, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Deborah S. Jones, Cynthia L. Murphy, and Mary H. Massey, all of Shelbyville, and Christina N. Brown of Indianapolis; best friend, Megan Wilson of Bloomington; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Jennifer Lynn Hardin.


Becky graduated in 1974 from Shelbyville High School.


She attended First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and City Church in Bloomington. Becky was secretary to the Quartermaster of the Indiana State Police for 10 years, served as a jail matron for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department for eight years, and worked at Joseph Kelley Attorney at Law office for over 15 years.


She and her sister, Christina, enjoyed owning and operating “Serendipity Coffee House” in Nashville for three years.


Becky loved her family, friends, nieces and nephews and enjoyed creating memories with each of them.


She also enjoyed researching genealogy with her sister, Debby for 20 years.


Becky was known as the family photographer and loved to entertain on the houseboat. She also enjoyed baking, reading and traveling.


A gathering of friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.


A Celebration of Becky’s life will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to view the service via livestreaming on our facebook page


Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.


Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
