Jerry Lynn Lawrence, 70, of Shelbyville

Jerry Lynn Lawrence, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Ashford Place.

 

He was born May 19, 1950 in Shelbyville to Kenneth Lawrence and Rosella (Winkler) Lawrence.

 

Jerry graduated from Shelbyville High School.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

 

Jerry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 70, and Knights of Columbus Council 822.

 

Jerry was a lifetime photographer.  One of his favorite places to take photos was the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  He retired from Indianapolis International Airport as an air traffic controller.  He loved the times he was able to vacation, especially going on cruises and trips to Branson, MO.

 

Jerry is survived by his brother, David Lawrence of Greenwood, his nephew, Kirk Lawrence, his niece, Gia (Brett) Bowers, one great-nephew, and three great-nieces.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law, Jackie Lawrence.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

 

Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veteran’s organizations.
