Harold Emerson Simmonds "Bud", 80, of Shelbyville

Harold Emerson Simmonds “Bud”, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital South.

 

He was born September 12, 1940 in Greensburg, IN, the son of Howard Simmonds and Lydia (Troutman) Simmonds.

 

Bud retired from the Shelbyville Parks Department after 22 years of service in maintenance.

 

He was a former member of the Eagles, Moose, and FOP lodges here in town.

 

Bud enjoyed fishing and had a love for trains.  He also enjoyed the times he was able to be in his garden.  Often times, he could be found watching old western movies.

 

Bud is survived by his son Jeff Simmonds; his daughter, Sherri (Billy) Morning; his grandson, Dakota Simmonds; his sisters, Diane (Mike) Yates, Linda Vire, and Sandra Yates, and close friend, John Gillen.

  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Larry, Billy, George, Donald, Richard, Earl, John, and Jr., and his sisters, Gene and Gail.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will be follow at Noon with John Smith “Smitty” officiating.

 

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.

  

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Bud’s family.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
