Sandra 'Sandy' Thompson, 77, of Shelbyville

Sandra ‘Sandy’ Thompson, 77, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Cypress Run in Morristown.

 

She was born July 9, 1943 in Shelbyville to Orville Shepard and Lee Ellen (Rouse) Shepard. 

 

Sandy was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army where she was the manager of the thrift shop.

 

She loved to play bingo and watch the Hallmark Channel.

 

Sandy married Willie Thompson on May 23, 2007, and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2016. 

 

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Jane Boucher (Bob) of Waldron; sons, Edward Tucker, Jr of Shelbyville; Brian Tucker (Hien) of Fortville; daughter, Michele Barnhart of Indianapolis; sons, Michael Tucker of Indianapolis; Rick Tucker (Stacy) of Indianapolis; and Scott Tucker (Jeanette) of Franklin; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Linda Fuquay of Edinburgh, Karen Jordan of Indianapolis, Paula Griffin (Rick) of Indianapolis, and Debbie Esters (Terry) of Shelbyville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Stacey Chaney, her son, Kevin Tucker, her grandson, Cord Tucker, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Sandy’s family.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sandy Thompson Funeral Fund in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service.
