Judith Carole Turner, 77, of Greenfield

Judith Carole Turner, 77, of Greenfield, passed from this world on June 3, 2021, surrounded by her devoted husband and family. She has now gone to be with the Lord in her heavenly home.

Judith was born in Shelbyville on January 14, 1944 to the late Max E. and Mary Louise Kraus. Growing up she participated in 4-H, winning many accolades for her sewing and craft projects. She was also a Rainbow Girl. She attended Charlottesville High School and graduated in 1962, having made many life-long friends. She attended Indiana Business College and graduated with a secretarial degree which she put to use in many capacities throughout her life. In September of 1970 she married the love of her life, Larry G. Turner. The Turner’s were blessed with 3 daughters and Judith halted her career in order to stay home and raise their daughters. As the girls grew up, Judith returned to work, working as the music department secretary at Greenfield Central High School, where the girls were attending high school. The girls fondly remember going to visit their mom during their school day. Once the girls were all off to college, Judith began working in Larry’s automotive shop as his office bookkeeper and secretary. She worked closely with her husband in this capacity until her retirement. She was an active member of First Church of God in Greenfield, which is now part of New Life Christian Fellowship Church.

Judith had many gifts and talents, and always seemed to be using them to benefit others. Whether she was altering or mending clothes, preparing a hot and homemade meal for her family, serving as team mom for her daughters’ sports teams, making a handmade baby quilt, taking a meal to a shut-in from church, serving on the church benevolence committee, teaching vacation bible school, babysitting her grandsons, being an attentive ear to listen and offer advice to her girls, or offering her undying support to her husband, she was always about the business of helping others. She provided her daughters a perfect example of how to live as successful women and be the best wives and mothers they could be.

Judith was preceded in death by her father and mother, Max and Mary Louise Kraus and her sister, Suzanne Johnson.

She is survived by her best friend, partner, and loving husband of 50 years, Larry G. Turner of Greenfield and their three daughters: Sabrina (Todd) Ryan of Greenwood, Kristen (Chris) Hewitt of Jupiter, Florida, and Audra (Dana) Caldwell of Morristown; and 6 grandsons: Turner and David Ryan, Connor, Carter, and Owen Hewitt, and Asher Caldwell. Also surviving are her 5 sisters-in-law: Lana Swim, Barbara Landreth, Judy Withrow, Connie Richardson, and Sandi Crisp; and her cousin, Diane Everton, all of whom consider Judith to be one of their own sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Chris Braschler and Mark Adcock officiating. Judith will be laid to rest at Turner Memorial Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 2611 Waterfront Parkway, Ste. 200, Indianapolis, IN 46214. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
