Billy D. Adams, 85, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1936, in Bluefield, Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Gladys (Caudell) Stamper. On August 9 1957, he married his wife of 63 years, Carol Sue Collier, and she survives.

In addition to Carol, Billy is survived by his son, Daniel Adams and wife, Samira, of Greenfield; daughter, Amy Varrone of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Hanna Varrone, Zoe Adams and Devin Adams; several brothers and sisters, including his twin brother, Bobby Adams and wife, Juanita, of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and several brothers and sisters.

Billy retired from International Harvester/Navistar in 2000, with 30 years of service.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Billy was a member of the American Legion.

Private family services will be conducted at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Interment will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County.
