Roy Dale Jacobs, Sr., 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
He was born July 20, 1942 in Shelbyville to Tennie W. Jacobs and Mary (Noble) Jacobs.
Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Air force and U.S. Army.
He was employed as a set-up machinist at NTN in Greensburg.
Roy was a member of the Salvation Army congregation. He enjoyed camping, going to amusement parks and visiting historical sites. One of his greatest pleasures was studying the Bible.
He married Pauline Dixon on June 23, 1970, and she preceded him in death in August 2016.
Roy is survived by his son, Roy Dale Jacobs, Jr. of Shelbyville; his daughter, Roxanna Icenogle of Shelbyville, his son, Brandon Allen Jacobs of Seymour, 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Larry Jacobs of TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter, Polly Ward, and 5 brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the funeral home with Envoy Shannon Benner officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations.
Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Roy’s family.
