Michael R. "Mike" Griffith, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021

at Franciscan Health.

Born May 6, 1948 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Maurice and Mary (Ray) Griffith.

He married Sharon (Roberts) Griffith on September 6, 1980 and she survives.

Other survivors include  a son Jon Fox of Franklin; a daughter Heather Davidson 

(husband Bradley) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a brother Melvin Griffith (wife Lois)

of Shelbyville; 3 grandchildren- Hadley Davidson, Teagan Davidson, Christopher Fox; and one great grandson Nyles Davidson.  He was preceded in death by his parents,

a brother Jerry Griffith, and 3 sisters- Shirley Skillman, Nancy Nigh, and Dora Scott.

Mr. Griffith had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and graduated from Shelbyville

High School in 1966.  He was a self employed painter with Griffith Painting for many

years.  He was a US Army Vietnam veteran, a member of Shelbyville VFW, and a former member of American Legion Post #70.  

Mike enjoyed cooking, fishing, and rabbit hunting, with his dogs.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Glenn E. George

& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Cliff Bunch officiating.  Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday evening, August 3, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
