David M. Qurazzo, 74, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairland

David M. Qurazzo, 74, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairland passed away August 27, 2021 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

 

He was born January 8, 1947 in Indianapolis to Nicholas T. and Hattie Lou Frances (Mastin) Qurazzo.

 

David graduated in 1965 from Triton Central High School.  He worked at General Electric for 38 years and later Wellman Thermal Systems.  He also worked at Shelbyville Central High School as a custodian for 8 years until his retirement.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in Vietnam with the 9th and 4th Infantry Divisions in 1966-1967.  He had the rank of Specialist 4th class when ending his military career.

 

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a member of The American Legion.   David enjoyed flea markets, car shows and the outdoors. 

 

Survivors include two brothers Thomas Qurazzo of Shelbyville and Stephen Qurazzo of Greenwood, a nephew Kyle Qurazzo of Shelbyville and two great nephews Gavin and Caleb Qurazzo.  He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Qurazzo and a nephew Scott Qurazzo.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 4pm -8pm at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. 

 

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.  Military rites will be conducted by local veteran organizations.
