Helen M. Hardin, 106, of Morristown

Helen M. Hardin, 106, of Morristown passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born August 11, 1915, in Orange, Rush County, the daughter of Frank E. and Bertha (May) Bever. On May 30, 1937, she married Harold J. Hardin, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2013.

 

Helen is survived by her son, Phillip Hardin of Morristown; daughter, Sara Stout and husband, Phil, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Stephanie Kirstein and husband, Dwayne, Jennifer Stout and husband, Luke, Christina Boyer and husband, Scott, and Phillip J. Stout and wife, Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brynna and Brylie Kirstein, Ashlynn and Addison Stout, and Ella and Parker Stout; and several nieces, nephews and some very special adopted daughters.

 

In addition to Harold, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy Bob Hardin; and sister, Kathryn Smith.

Helen graduated in 1933 from Arlington High School. She was a member of Morristown Christian Church. Helen formerly worked, in the cafeteria, at Morristown Schools and the Kopper Kettle.

She was a member of a Happy Go Lucky Bunco Club and the Merry Mixers Home Economics Club.

Helen loved life, she loved her family and the joy they brought to her. Helen would set goals for herself and was proud when she accomplished them. She loved celebrating her birthdays. Helen enjoyed making others happy. She also enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens, watching the hummingbirds outside her window, cooking for her loved ones and friends, working crossword puzzles, reading and gardening.

 

Watching the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers also brought her enjoyment.

 

Helen also leaves behind her granddogs, Lilly, Bella, Callie, Lucy, Pax, Winnie, Peyton and Daisy.

 

Helen’s family would like to thank Suburban Hospice for the amazing care she received over the past few years.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the funeral home, with Pastor Fred Hickman, Bill Farmer, Rev. Jim Coyle and Chaplain Katherine Murray.

 

Interment will be at Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Arlington.
