Ailene F. Schlick, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at her residence.

  She was born November 27, 1937 in Ithaca, NY to Louis I. Schlick and Martha (Bausback) Schlick.

  She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1955.

 Ailene was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

  She was employed in government services and the VA for 25 years, retiring in 1995.

  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Ailene enjoyed volunteering at the Stand Theatre.

  Her most treasured times were spent with her family and friends.

 She married Robert I. Schlick on June 28, 1993 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, David Ellis, Melinda Rice, Kelly Callen, Robbie Schlick, Shannon Boler, Lonnie Andrews, and Robert I. Schlick II; her brother, David Schlick, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Ralph Schlick and Daniel Ellis; daughters, Tracie Schlick and Candi Schlick.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Ailene’s family.

  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or The Strand Theatre.
