Esther Irene Morris, age 86 of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born February 11, 1935, in St. Charles, Virginia to the late Evertte Wilson and Nettie (Mink) DeRossett.
Esther was a long-time active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Get togethers at church were a favorite pastime along with shopping, Hallmark movies and word search puzzles. Esther was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Esther was a nursing assistant for Hancock Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years. Before moving to Indiana, she was also a nursing assistant in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Fleming; sisters: Jean Kelly and Faye Reed; grandchildren: Travis Fleming, Emily Piper, Michelle Morris, and Daniel S. Morris; 6 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, and sons: Daniel Morris and Ricky Morris.
Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, September 13, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with Pastors Roger Kinion and Paul George officiating.
Calling will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church.
