Gary “Shane” Wright, 43, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
He was born August 26, 1978, in Rexburg, Idaho, the son of Gary Ordell and Janette (Abbott) Wright.
In addition to his parents of Shelbyville, Shane is survived by his sisters, Lisa Canale and husband, Vincent, of Lake Ronkonoma, New York, Yvonne Wright and Terra Wright, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Jared Wright of Cumming, Georgia, and Ryan Wright of Danville; maternal grandparents, Clifford and Cherol Abbott of Flowermound, Texas; 13 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shane was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ordell Zeldon and Darleen (Lybbert) Wright.
He graduated in 1996 from Provo High School in Provo, Utah.
Shane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Shane also enjoyed sketching.
Shane was loved by all and loved people, he was genuinely happy to see his family and friends. In life, you wanted to be the recipient of a “Shane hug.”
Visitation will be from 11 to noon, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 114 W. Rampart Road in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the church, with Bishop John Craig officiating. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
