Joyce Ann Miller, 84, of Shelbyville

Joyce Ann Miller, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at Timber Creek Village Assisted Living of Shelbyville.

 

She was born July 14, 1937, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Ralph and Winifred (Alexander) Amos. On November 8, 1957, she married her husband of 63 years, Johnny W. “Jack” Miller, and he survives.

 

In addition to Jack, Joyce is survived by her sons, Kim Miller and wife, Tracy, of Shelbyville, and Kyle Miller and wife, Amy, of Indianapolis; daughter, Kelly Hurley and husband, Brian, of Morrison, Colorado; brothers, Lowell Amos and wife, Janet, and Terry Amos and wife, Linda, both of Shelbyville; sister, Jane Amos of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Rachel, Jake, Sam, Kyra, Trae, Dustin, Erin and Danielle; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ralph Amos, Jr.

 

She graduated in 1955 from Shelbyville High School.

 

Joyce was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church.

 

She retired as the manager of Shelbyville Middle School cafeteria, with 28 years of service. Joyce was a member of a card club for over 30 years, she enjoyed playing euchre and hand and foot. She also enjoyed traveling.

 

She was a wonderful cook, and won many ribbons at the county fair for her pies and hot rolls. Joyce loved her family and enjoyed caring for them.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.
