Dixie Madonna (Barnes) Redelman, 84, of Shelbyville

Dixie Madonna (Barnes) Redelman, 84, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021.

 

She was born August 18, 1937 in Clarksburg, IN to Archibald “Archie” Barnes and Magdalene “Maggie” (Gillespie) Barnes.

 

Dixie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She retired at age 70 from Williams Industries, where she worked from 1988 to 2007. She was a member of the Blue River Valley Tractor Club.  Dixie did housecleaning for numerous families in Shelby County.  She was a hog farmer for 30 years.

 

She married Floyd James Redelman on December 29, 1956 and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2005.

 

Dixie is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Randy) Nicholas of Olathe, KS, and Nancy Powell of Indianapolis, her grandchildren, Julie Lair, Bradley Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Leslie (Terrell) Tucker, and Derek Powell, her great-grandchildren, Cailyn Lair, Greyson Lair, Paxtyn Lair, Nora Johnson, Levi Johnson, Stella Johnson, Jazmyn Powell, Jordyn Tucker, Landyn Powell, Zaiden Johnson, Coltyn Powell, Zander Lambert, and Hudson Powell.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sons-in-law, Jerry Wayne Johnson, and Howard Powell, Jr., and her brothers, Rupert Barnes and

 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Dixie’s family.
