Vyda Limpus, 92, of Shelbyville

Vyda M. Limpus, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg, IN.

 

She was born June 5, 1929 in Goshen, IN, to Gordon Goodman and Ethel (Gagnon) Goodman.   She married Ora Limpus on November 9, 1946.

 

Vyda attended Beauty College in Columbus, IN. After college, she became a self-employed hairdresser and worked at Marsh Supermarket until retiring in 2009.

 

Vyda was a member of the Home Economics Club and attended Lewis Creek Baptist Church. She will be forever missed for her great sense of humor and her laid back attitude and loving patience.

 

Vyda is survived by her daughter, Debra (Pete) Cunningham and daughter-in-law, Cindy Limpus, grandchildren, Michelle (John) Holt, Anita (Nathan) Sipes, and Angela Cunningham, great-grandchildren, Luke Sipes, Elise Sipes, Claire Sipes and Hyatt Thurston, brother, Jack (Bobbie) Goodman, and sisters, Beverly(Charles) Boxell, Lois Cripe, Linda Solomon, Sharon (Sam) Barnard and many nieces and nephews.

 

Vyda was preceded in death by her husband, Ora Limpus, son, Edwin Limpus and sisters, Eileen Rush and Shirley (Robert) Trittipo.

 

Visitation will be from 10am to 11:30am., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E 600 S, Waldron, IN.

 

Funeral service to follow with Pastor Harvey Taylor officiating. Burial will be at the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.

 

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Vyda’s family.
