Charline Mae Rehme Wicker, 89, of Huntington, formerly of Shelby County

Charline Mae Rehme Wicker, 89, of Huntington, formerly of Shelby County, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

She was born January 8, 1933, in Delaware County, the daughter of Harold Grant and Mary Esther (Himelick) Rehme. On July 31, 1955, she married Bill J. Wicker, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1988.

Charline is survived by her daughters, Catherine Elaine Reese and husband, Jon, of Peru, and Patricia Ann Gilson and husband, Ronald, of Andrews; son, David Wayne Wicker and wife, Karen, of Shelbyville; sister, Phyllis Irwin of Decatur; brother, Robert Rehme of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Reese, Carrie Cox, Logan Reese, Wayne Wicker, Sarah Hanes, Larry Wicker, Carson Reese and Brittany Wicker; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Bill, Charline was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Donald Eugene Wicker and Michael Allen Wicker; and sister, Christine Kimbrell.

Charline graduated in 1951 from Gaston High School, she received her bachelors degree in education from Ball State University in 1955.

She attended New Hope United Brethren Church.

Charline was an elementary school teacher.

She enjoyed sewing and researching genealogy.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, January 15,2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery in Shelby County.
